I am your host. You already know who it is, your cousin, King hubb Man. It's so good to be back. It's so good to talk to you all again. I know it's been a hot minute. I know a lot of you've been emailing the show asking, hey, are we coming back? Are you ending the podcast? What's going on? We're not ending it it. It's still season five and we're still in the midst of it. Your cousin just needed a break. Your cousin just really needed a mental break and the moment to reset, refocus, to breathe, and that way I can start again so I can continue to give you like I have for the past five seasons, the best quality of work, the best quality of this podcast that you all shared with me. Currently under construction. Man, I'm so glad to be back. I really am Cousinshill Folks. A lot has happened in my life since the last time we spoke a lot of me, some some negative things and it's okay with those negative things that happen, a whole lot of positive things. First and foremost, I want to Uh, even though with this is a few months late, I still want to congratulate all of our our listeners are for our Christmas giveaway. This past Christmas,

1:37 there was it was just always a blessing to do that. Those families were extremely happy. Uh, you know who you are. I reached out to you all and we are doing it again this year. I'm gonna start this that. We'm gonna We're gonna start it out right. Today's just random talk cousins and ken folks. So I know it may seem like I'm gonna be all over the place. I'm not. I'm just really glad to be back to have a conversation with you all and to get us back in rotation. Now, before I get back into what I was just saying, you're having today's episode, you're gonna we're gonna go back on a regular schedule rotation. You have your your regular episode on tomorrow and then again at the end of the week on Friday. So we're gonna be back in regular rotation cousins again, folks. Uh, we have been you know, green light for season six and season seven. So we're not going anywhere because of you all.

I am so happy to be back with you all. Listen. Like I was saying about our Christmas giveaway, we are gonna do it again this year. Last year we were able to help and feed again six wonderful families. It's since I started doing this a couple of years ago, it's grown exponentially each year and there has been more and more response to it, asking now we're gonna do it again. We're gonna do it again this year. Now this year, trusting God, and I know we can do this this year, Trusting God.

3:25 We're going to feed ten families this year from six last year. Ten families this year. Ten families this year, cousins and ken folks. Ten five regionally locally, five nationally, half and half. We're not gonna do most of one and less of the other half in half five originally locally, five nationally. We're gonna do this thing. We got a little time up until we get it going. I may do I may tweak everything a little bit this year from what we've done in the last couple of years. But either way, it won't be complicated or anything of that particular nature. It's still gonna be something very simple for you to do. But we're gonna add a little twist to it this year. So the only way you'll know what to do and how to make sure that you don't miss out on it is to continue to keep listening, cousins and ken folks. But I'll get all big to you with all of that. You get all of that information in season six. Now what we're doing here for the rest of season five again, I'm gonna be back regularly. We're gonna run it from now till July.

4:43 We're gonna go into our brief hiatus for July, and we'll be back for season six the first week of September, which you already know. We always kick it out somewhere around close to your cousin's birthday, So we're gonna kick it off on my birth day again this year, which will be on Monday, which is Labor Day. Ironic, your cousin's gonna be fifty this year. Your cousin's gonna be fifty, and I'm excited about it. I am. I never thought in my life before now that I would be so excited about becoming fifty, because like most of us, when you were younger, you looked at the fact that, like, at fifty, that's old.

5:31 But guess what, It's a blessing. It is truly a blessing from the most high to see this point in life, not saying this middle aged or anything of that age, even though some people call it middle aged. No, to be able to say God allowed you to see fifty years on this planet, this blue green ball that we sit on of dirt and water that spins around and goes around their big brightish yellowish ball in the sky we call the sun, to see that make fifty trips around. That that's a blessing.

6:17 So many have not done so something, and for whatever particular reasons, so many didn't. So I feel blessed to continue to still be among the living, still in all my giving faculties, and I'm just truly grateful. So cousin still has more news. So I don't know if I share with you all about my weight loss journey. I am still on it. We are back running strong on it. And a lot of you all, who if you've seen me, you know me, and you know I love I love food. But we got to get it right. Got to continue to get this weight off me. Cousins again, folks, so I can be here as long as possibly can to be as healthy as possible. So I've made a lot of changes in my life as far as my eating habits, my diets, getting more exercise, uh, incorporating much much more, and just so I can be a healthier version of me because y'all still need me, your cousins and ken folks, and I still need y'all. And I can't be here if I'm not eating right and taking care of me. I can't do that unless I do so right right, So y'all go check me out. You're gonna see me sooner. You're gonna be like, man, what what what? What? Because? Got going on right there? Man?

7:35 You you you're getting small there. Man, You're losing You're losing it. And you're right. I am, I really am, And I'm proud of myself and I'm continue to be proud of me taking control of my life and to get healthy and to do this complete lifestyle change. And that's what it's about. You know, it's it's not a fad, it's not like. This is a complete lifestyle change, and I'm here for it. I'm here for it. So get on this journey with me. If you if you're already own it, it's great. You know, continue to encourage me. You know we can encourage each other. If you not and you tired of how you look and it's tired of how you're feeling when you get up, then hey, take the initiative. It's one step at a time.

8:22 You don't have to do anything strenuous. Begin it one step at a time. It could be something as simple as walking, walk a little bit, walk ten fifteen minutes a day, and then it's just just go from there into much more. I promise you you'll start to feel so much better because it's against folks. You will, I promise you. And whatever I can do to encourage you to support you, you know how to reach me. So another big thing happened recently for those of you who were in those states that were able to see it, and if you were in the if you were in Texas in a Dalla series specifically, I can't say the last money. Two mondays ago, on April eighth, you had a chance to experience a complete total solar eclipse.

9:33 And I've been looking forward to this for years since I found out we're gonna have it. I've been waiting on it, maybe seven or eight years since I knew about it. And when I sit and tell you, it's nothing like it. It was a sight to behold seeing God's work and everything line at that moment, there's just nothing like it. To put it into words, I can try to describe it to you the best way I can. I could give you the scientific description of it and everything, but to see it with my own eyes and being in the path of it, it was just beautiful and just to see the most highest work at hand at that moment.

10:31 I remember seeing the last time I saw a total solar eclipse, I was about nine or ten years old. This was in nineteen eighty four. This was the last one I clearly remember my mind that I saw with my own eyes, although there have been several across the world since. I even remember there was a partial that got a chance to slightly see back in twenty seventeen. We were in the seventies and seventy five percent range, so that wasn't wasn't much we could see. It was a partial, you know, you could uh, it was a little dark. There's nothing major, but you can just tell the sunlight itself was dim that particular day. But the one I saw in nineteen eighty four, compared to what I saw with my own eyes now at forty nine and twenty twenty four light years ahead of it, compared to what I remember, this was again just breathtaking. I was able to get great pictures. I was able to get great video of it, and means just to see it get dark, to see the moon cover the sun and completely get to see the corona around the sun, I mean, the moon and everything, and the way that it got dark, and then there was like an eerie silence, and the birds stopped chirping, and even the wind picked up. It was like we gotta gotta the feel of

12:01 the solar wind coming in. It was again, it was just like anything I've ever experienced. It was just amazing, and I just I just think the most high that I was able to have this experience and be able to see it with my own eyes. It's uh something that I'll never forget. I know, I won't forget in my life. One of the most amazing things about this is there were so many people that traveled thousands and hundreds of miles to be in the path just to see it, you know, not just here in Texas or Arkansas. Uh, they would travel to Kentucky and parts of Pennsylvania, parts of Ohio, parts of New York, Maine just to be in a path to see and have that experience. Now, I'm not gonna lie to you under certain circumstances, I bite. But the way I saw some of these hotels and and we'll all uh gaslight and the price, I mean jacking the price up for people they knew they were gonna come in and try to see the eclipse. I NA not gonna be able to do it. That's a negative ghost rider. We're not doing that. So if I have to go through that, just experience seeing another solar eclipse.

13:18 I think of a bypasser seeing this one. Here was everything. And I'll never forget that experience. Cousins of ken folks, And if you got a chance to see it, I truly hope that you felt the same way. A lot of people watched it online and and and they may have have had the chance to enjoy that, but it's a difference being out there and seeing it with your own two eyes that the most how gave you one heck of experience. Hm hmm. It's election to your cousins and kin folks. So I and we're gonna select the president this year. As I've always talked about before. Y'all know, I'm not big on politics. I don't do politics.

14:11 That is not my thing. But I urge you all don't think your vote doesn't count. Get out and vote, not just this year in the presidential elections, but even when the midterms come back and your local elections. Make sure your voice is heard. Get out and vote. Don't sit and think, oh, well, if I vote, it's not gonna change anything. My one vote won't count against anything. Your one vote can count. Your one vote can make a difference because if we want change and you want something to be done on your local level, your a state level, or whatever the case may be, you have to get out there and vote. Vote to people in the office that's going to have your best interest at heart.

14:52 Let's not sit here and complain about those that are in position of in government or whatnot and they're not doing right by the constituents or the state or region or naturally or whatever the case may be. We can't complain about them if we didn't get out there and vote. So we have to ensure cousins, can folks, we get out there and vote locally, statewide, nationally. Make sure you do so. Your voice does count. Your voice does make a difference in voting. It truly does. It truly does. Don't let those who gave their lives in orders for us to have the right to do so. Hear me, my cousins and king folks. Don't let those who gave their lives so that we can have the right to go vote be in vain. You hear me, it's your cousin talk to you. Let's not do that.
